Payne Family Spaghetti Sauce

We both enjoy a hot meal, made fresh. Neither of us enjoy eating lots of leftovers, so I like to make meals that we can eat throughout the week in a variety of ways. One of our families favorite options is Spaghetti Sauce. A good Sauce can be used in a variety of ways, in Spaghetti, in Lasagna, in loaded baked potatoes, in quesadillas, stuffed bell peppers, egg plant boats, pizza, the possibilities are endless. Last thing you can do is freeze it. It stores well, and you can always unthaw real quick for another handy meal.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Get your pan nice and warm, once the pan is warm add in olive oil, then your chopped white onion. Wait until the Onion is cooked like below
  2. Then add in your peppers, let the peppers and onions cook down until the peppers are cooked
  3. Ounce the peppers are fork tender, then you add in your spices
  4. Stir in the spices and garlic, then add in both packs of meat
  5. Mix the meat and veggies and let them start to brown
  6. Once the meat has browned, you will add in the tomatoes, stir in and then add in the tomato paste.
  7. You want a juicy base for your sauce. Home Grown tomatoes can also be used and cooked down fresh from your local market, but you will want to watch your base here.
  8. We cooked down our base for 2 hours after this and then let it simmer to reduce and thicken our sauce.
  9. We put in the fridge ounce it cooled and ate the next day.
